Russian troops at base in Armenia practise high-altitude warfare

Tank troops of Russia’s 102nd military base, located in Armenia, are
practising manoeuvres at high altitude and in poor weather conditions,
the Ministry of Defence TV channel Zvezda reported on 25 December.

One of the aims of the exercise is to lay siege to an enemy and then
attack from the flank, operating in thick fog and minimal visibility,
the TV said.

An officer explained that tank drivers have to be aware that at
altitudes of 2,000 metres or more above sea level engines rev faster
and can overheat if not treated with care.

Video from 0508 to 0509 gmt shows troops mustering, tanks in
mountainous and snowy landscape, troops loading large projectiles;

Southern Military District (captioned).
