YEREVAN.- Nearly 60 thousand Yezidis reside in Armenia, half of them
in Armavir Region, head of the Yezidi Union Aziz Tamoyan told Armenian
News-NEWS.am.
Yezidi language is taught in all schools of 34 communities. Armenian
government is providing the textbooks and supporting Ezdihana
newspaper.
Tamoyan is confident that Yezidis must be more consolidated with the
Armenians. He believes Yezidis must learn much from well-versed and
educated Armenians.
`Our people are mainly engaged in cattle breeding and farming, which
largely prevents them from getting education,’ he emphasized.
