ARMENIA CHAIRED A CONFERENCE AT THE UN GENEVA CONFERENCE

On December 13 Armenia chaired a conference at UN office in Geneva. As
the press and information department of Armenian Ministry of Foreign
Affairs informs the conference was named “Expanding of the cooperation
between the UN and Human Rights regional mechanisms”. The seminar
focused on the theme “Role of the Human Rights protection organizations
and the NGOs in joint protection of the women’s rights”.

The seminar was organized in frame of the co-authored resolution by
the representatives of five regions which are Belgium (West-European
group), Armenia (East-European group), Thailand (Asian group),
Mexico (Latin American group) and Senegal (African group) Armenian
representative underlined in the speech that the women’s rights
protection was on focus in Armenia and is one of the main themes for
the Human Rights council.

The seminar lasted for three days and the representatives of UN
member-countries, regional companies and the NGOs attended the seminar.
