Hayrikyan: Tsarukyan in role of consensus opposition candidate would
make me think

If Prosperous Armenia Party leader Gagik Tsarukyan decides to become a
consensus opposition candidate, that will be a serious reason to
think, National Self-Determination Union (NSDU) chairman Paruyr
Hayrikyan told reporters in Yerevan.

Hayrikyan noted that once Tsarukyan helped him in implementing a
church construction project but it has nothing to do with politics.

`Gagik Tsarukyan discussed with us the model of absolute democracy, he
promised that the respective MPs will discuss it so that the model
offered by him can be adopted. But this issue was never developed. I
do not want to give other examples so as not to contradict his motto –
`My word is act.’ If Gagik Tsarukyan wants to engage only in political
activities, the joint experience of the past could be transferred to
the political field. But if Gagik Tsarukyan decides to become a
consensus opposition candidate, that will be a serious reason for me
to think,’ said Hayrikyan.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
