Ambassador Galib Israfilov: “If Armenia shares the co-chairs’ position,
then it must fulfill their first demand – to withdraw its troops from
the occupied territories of Azerbaijan”

Dublin. Victoria Dementeva – APA. Azerbaijan has responded to the
speech of Armenian foreign minister Edward Nalbandian on the Nagorno
Karabakh conflict at the meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council.

APA’s correspondent reports from Dublin that following the speeches
of all countries’ representatives, Azerbaijan has used the right to
respond to the speech of Armenian foreign minister.

Azerbaijan’s permanent representative to the OSCE, ambassador
Galib Israfilov said that unfortunately, the OSCE has once again
witnessed Armenia’s accusations against Azerbaijan: “To our mind,
the only interesting moment in Armenian foreign minister’s statement
is that Armenia shares the co-chairs’ position on the settlement
of the conflict. The co-chairs’ demand from Armenia is to withdraw
its troops from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan. If Armenia
fulfills this demand, the other claims of Armenian foreign minister
against Azerbaijan will be eliminated.”

The ambassador said that the sooner Armenia takes this step, the
sooner mutual understanding and peaceful cooperation can be achieved.

Armenian representative didn’t use his right to reply.

Nalbandian accused Azerbaijan of rejecting all proposals of the OSCE
Minsk Group on the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
