PARIS – The President of Armenia Serge Sargsyan and French President
Francois Hollande held a press conference in the courtyard of the
Elysee Palace on November 12 during which the two leaders welcomed
the friendly relations that bind France and Armenia.
Over lunch that followed, which included Charles Aznavour and
co-Chairmen of the CCAF, Mourad Papazian and Ara Toranian, the head of
the French state has confirmed that there would be a law criminalizing
the Armenian genocide denial.
Hollande stressed the need to ensure legal certainty for the statute
to avoid censorship of the Constitutional Council as happened earlier
this year.
