RUSSIAN BORDER PROTECTION SERVICE HEAD TO VISIT ARMENIA
YEREVAN, November 26. / ARKA /. Head of the Russian Federal Agency for
Development of the State Border (Rosgranitsa) Dmitry Bezdelov will
visit Yerevan on November 27-29 at the invitation of the Secretary
of National Security Council of Armenia, Artur Baghdasaryan, who is
also the chairman of an inter-agency commission on border security.
In Yerevan Bezdelova will have meetings with Armenian President Serzh
Sargsyan, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan and Artur Baghdasaryan. His
itinerary includes also a visit to Russian Border Department in
Armenia, as well as TO a section of Armenia~Rs state border. The two
sides will sign a protocol.
The Russian Border Department in Armenia protects Armenia~Rs external
border with Iran and Turkey in line with an agreement signed in 1992.
Russian border guards are deployed in Gyumri, Armavir, Artashat and
Meghri. -0-
