EXPERT: THERE IS NO SIBERIAN PLAGUE EPIDEMIC IN ARMENIA

Although there were cases of Siberian plague in Armenia, there is
no epidemic, representative of Armenia’s Health Ministry, Artavazd
Vanyan, said at today’s press-conference.

“The first case of Siberian plague was revealed in Tsovak village of
Gegarkunik region, after which 51 people were take to the hospital,
and the diagnosis Siberian plague was proved for eight of them. As for
the rest people, Siberian plague was not found in them because of the
unreduced traces”, – he said. He also added that at present 5 persons
with the signs of Siberian plague are in the Matruni hospital. It
is already for several decades as the cases of Siberian plague were
revealed in Armenia, but they have never turned into epidemic, he
said and added that cattle infected people, but there was no case
when one person may infect another one.
