IRANIAN POLYMERS NOT COMING TO ARMENIA DUE TO SUSPENDED EXPORTS FROM IRAN
YEREVAN, November 6. /ARKA/. Import of Iranian polymers (polyethylene,
polypropylene, polystyrene) to Armenia has been suspended for almost
two weeks now as Iran stopped exporting some 52 product names, the
press service of Armenian Union of Manufacturers and Entrepreneurs
reported.
It may have a very negative impact on food industry and agriculture
in particular, says the report.
At least 30-40 days are needed to start importing polymer raw materials
from other countries. Apart from that, the price will be higher,
which will provoke a rise in prices for goods.
The Union of Manufacturers and Entrepreneurs of Armenia has applied
to the country’s Prime-Minister Tigran Sargsyan to mediate and help
solve the issue with the relevant Iranian authorities. -0-
