HISTORY OF ARMENIAN CHURCH IN THE CRIMEA EXHIBITION OPENS IN SIMFEROPOL

The exhibition “History of Armenian Church in the Crimea” has been
opened in Simferopol.

The exhibition is highlighting photos and archival documents from
the National Archives of Armenia, State Archives of the Crimea and
the Ethnographic Museum of the Crimea.

“In cooperation with our Ukrainian partners we have organized this
exhibition of archival documents of the Armenian community in Ukraine.

We held the exhibition in Kiev, Lvov and Yerevan. And now we have
organized it in the Crimea, where Armenians have lived since the
12th century,” Amatuni Virabyan, Director of the National Archives
of Armenia, said at the opening ceremony.

The exhibition has been organized by the National Archives of Armenia,
Central State Historical Archives of Ukraine and State Archives of
the Crimea.

The Luis charity foundation sponsored the publication of the catalogue
entitled Armenian Churches of the Crimea.

Also, the Union of Armenians of Ukraine sponsored the conference
‘Armenians in Ukraine: past, present, future.’
