Armenian expert proposes to deploy `peacekeepers’ in Syria

PanARMENIAN.Net – Vice-Chairman of the Russian Academy for
Geopolitical Issues Araik Sargsyan has suggested Armenia deploy
peacekeepers to defend Syrian’s Armenian community, given RA mission
in Kosovo.
`The group may comprise 20-25 persons, who will guard
Armenian-inhabited districts and protect the residents,’ he said.
The expert further stressed the need for a local defense system to be
applied in those districts.
`Unfortunately, Syrian Armenians proved rather disorganized in
applying the system,’ he said, noting RA as the community’s only hope
today.
