On 26 September Karabakh President Bako Sahakyan signed a decree
on awarding posthumously NKR Defence Army machine-gunner, private
Vaghinak Baghdasaryan for bravery shown during the defense of the
Nagorno Karabakh Republic state border with the “For Service in Battle”
medal, press office of the NKR president reported.
Being on battle position Vaghinak A. Baghdasaryan (born in 1993),
got a gunshot wound and died on the spot on September 25. The fire
was reportedly opened by the enemy.
In a statement, Armenia’s Ministry of Defense has expressed condolences
to the family of Vaghinak A. Baghdasaryan. The Ministry has called
for Azerbaijan’s full responsibility for the incident.
“It was a very heavy loss for us. With such steps, the enemy
contributes to an increased tension on the borderline,” the statement
ran.
