YEREVAN. – Sixteen people drowned in water-canals in Armenia as of
Sept. 11.

Twenty-one incidents were registered by the Ministry of Emergency
Situations for the first eight months of 2012, including three
cases in rivers, one in water reservoir, twelve in lakes and four in
water-canals, the Ministry informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

As a result of those incidents, sixteen people died, including ten in
lakes, two in rivers, one in water reservoir and two in water-canals.

The August registered the highest number of incidents, when eight
people fall in water reservoirs, five of which have died. August is
followed by July – five people, two deaths, and May – three people,
all of them died.
