The Nagorno-Karabakh issue has no-and cannot have any-military
solution, former US Ambassador to Azerbaijan and the OSCE Minsk
Group’s former American Co-Chair Matthew Bryza told Azerbaijan’s
1news.az website.

“As far as I know, both Azerbaijan and Armenia don’t want a military
solution to this matter because they, too, favor a peaceful resolution
of the problem. I’m simply confident that the Co-Chairs need to make
maximum efforts to bring the parties’ positions closer,” Bryza said.

In his view, this matter’s diplomatic solution is not only possible,
but, also, it is on the negotiating table.

“The agreements, which are reached between the Co-Chairs and the
presidents [of Armenia and Azerbaijan] are a realistic option. I’m
confident that, irrespective of everything, the negotiation process
between Azerbaijan and Armenia should continue,” Matthew Bryza
stressed.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
