Central Council of Armenian Union of Russia to resolve conflict in Adygeya

The Armenian community of Adygeya has requested Ara Abramyan,
President of the Armenian Union of Russia, to assist in resolving the
conflict in Adygeya, NEWS.am reports.

Chairman of the Adygeya regional office of the union Vartan Zeytunyan
was elected in Maikop in May 2011. The Central Council approved him as
a mediator. Vice President of the union German Ananyants met Vladislav
Fedorov, head of the administration of Adygeya leader and the Cabinet,
and presented a letter supporting Vartan Zeytunyan.

Parnak Kukulyan, the predecessor of Zeytunyan as chairman, and some
members of the council do not recognize the election results. As a
result, another Armenian organization was formed, Miasin, chaired by
Ararat Srmikyan.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
