Syrian ambassador to the UN Bashar Ja’afari said his family is
receiving threats.

Addressing the UN Security Council on Friday Ja’afari said he got
threats via media and websites registered in the U.S., Saudi Arabia
and Qatar. The Ambassador said he had informed US agencies about the
threats.

The UN Security Council adopted resolution on Syria by 133 votes to
12, with 31 abstentions. Armenia abstained from voting.

Bashar Ja’afari said the voting was `a piece of theater’ and called
resolution’s main sponsors, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Bahrain, `despotic
oligarchies.’

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
