ARMENIA TO BUILD COPPER SMELTING PLANT WITH AUSTRIAN INVESTMENTS

YEREVAN. – Austrian companies will invest in building copper smelting
plant in Armenia, Austrian Embassy representative said in Yerevan
on Tuesday.
According to him, in addition, Austrian Waagner-Biro Austria Stage
Systems AG Company has undertaken renovation of Yerevan’s National
Opera and Ballet Theatre, amounting 8 million euro.
The Armenian Development Agency has organized a business forum between
Armenia and Austria within the frameworks of the Austrian President
Heinz Fischer’s visit.
Trade turnover made $50.5 million between the two states last year,
while export from Armenia was $2.7 million and import was $47.7
million. Armenia exports copper and black metals, aluminum, and
imports natural and artificial pearls, precious metals, precious and
half-precious stones and confectionary.
