THERE IS NO THREAT OF A HUGE MIGRATION OF ARMENIANS FROM SYRIA

YEREVAN, 8 JUNE, ARMENPRESS: Though the tense situation and daily
clashes are not suspended in Syria, however there is no danger
regarding Armenian community in Syria. Armenpress was informed about
this issue from the representative of Armenian community in Syria,
Nazaret Elmajyan. He mentioned, that there is no threat for Armenian
people, living there, it is just the impact of the total strained
situation Elmajyan noted, that some representatives of Armenian
community in Syria have already applied for obtaining the Armenian
citizenship, and a lot of people are ready for it. What refers to
leaving of Syrian-Armenian people, Elmajyan added, that a very little
amount of Armenians passed the Syrian borders, but there is a concern,
that the number may grow.
It is circulated in media, that 15-20 Armenian families left Syria.
Since the escalation of inter-political situation, 4 Armenians have
been killed.
