LIFE OF THE MILITARY SERVICEMEN INJURED IN CONSEQUENCE OF AZERBAIJANI DIVERSION IS NOT IN DANGER

YEREVAN, JUNE 4, ARMENPRESS: In consequence of the regular diversion
of the Azerbaijani side on June 4 in the northeastern sector of the
Armenian-Azerbaijani border, 3 Armenian soldiers have been killed
and 6 injured. Speaking to Armenpress, Employee at Information and
Public Relations Department Mushegh Aghekyan said that the life of
the injured is not in danger.
It is reported that the injured are being transferred to Yerevan,
and everything possible will be done to save their life.
Senior officer of investigative department’s public relations agency
Mary Sargsyan told Armenpress that among the injured are Senior
Lieutenant Mushegh Nurbekyan, soldiers Igit Hovhannisyan, Maxim
Melkonyan, Sedrak Shahbazyan, Artak Mnatsakanyan and Koryun Iritsyan.
The names of the killed soldiers are Hrach Sargsyan, Zohrab Balabekyan
and Karen Davtyan.
On June 4 the Azerbaijani side roughly violated the ceasefire regime
at the line of contact for a regular time, attempting to intrude to
the military bases stationed in the direction of Berdavan and Chinari
villages of the Tavush Region.
As a result of the taken measures and the Armenian military
servicemen’s courageous operations, the diversion advancement was
stopped, and the adversary was driven back, giving casualties.
Armenia’s Military Prosecutor and Defense Ministry’s special
investigation group have left for the place of the incident. The
Armed Forces of Armenia control the situation at the line of contact.
