Leader retires
VARANT Meguerditchian has retired as executive director of the Armenian
National Committee of Australia. Davidson MP Jonathan O’Dea thanked
Mr Meguerditchian for his 12 years with the committee and being an
advocate on matters relating to the Armenian community. Mr O’Dea is
the chair of the Armenian-Australian Parliamentary Friendship Group.
Mcilroy in running
LANE Cove councillor Keith Mcilroy has been pre-selected as a NSW
Greens party candidate for the federal Senate election. There are
nine other candidates who are hoping to win one of two positions. The
earliest possible date for a Senate election is in August next year.
