EIGHT COMPANIES BID FOR THE RIGHT TO LAUNCH GROUND-BASED DIGITAL TV AND RADIO BROADCASTING SYSTEM IN ARMENIA

Eight companies have bid for the right to launch a ground-based
digital TV and radio broadcasting system in Armenia.

The press service of Armenia’s Transport and Communication Ministry
reports that participating in the pre-qualification round are companies
are from the United States, Bulgaria, Russia, Hong Kong and Armenia.

Their offers will be considered within the period prescribed by
the law.

The decision to transit to digital TV and radio broadcasting was
adopted in Nov 2009.
