NUNE YESAYAN PERFORMED FOR ARMENIANS IN ISTANBUL

“I went to Constantinople to perform for Armenians. It was Hrant Dink’s
dream to see me singing in Constantinople,” renowned Armenian singer
Nune Yesayan said adding she went to Istanbul as she was invited by
the Armenian community.

Nune Yesayan performed in Istanbul on May 11, More than 2000 people
enjoyed the concert.

The singer liked the hospitality and enjoyed the concert, too. She
performed songs about Kars, Mush and the Lake Van.

“It was courageous step to perform those songs there, but I knew if
I went there I should do it without concessions,” she said.

Nune Yesayan encourages her colleagues to go to Turkey and to perform
for the Armenians, since they need it. “If I’m invited tomorrow,
I will go again.”
