HUNGRY MAN IS A SCOUNDREL – ARMENIAN OPPOSITION MEMBER

YEREVAN. – “A hungry man is a scoundrel. If you recall, I was saying
that these [May 6 parliamentary] elections will be even more cruel,”
the opposition bloc Armenian National Congress representative and
Social-Democratic Hnchakyan Party member Gurgen Yeghiazaryan noted
during a press conference on Thursday.

He informed that a soldier’s mother had called him on the phone on
election day and said she had written down the license plate numbers
of fourteen vehicles, from which AMD 5,000 (approx. US$ 13) banknotes
were being distributed in bundles.

“The society’s 43 percent voted for the [Republican Party of Armenia]
RPA because of hunger,” Gurgen Yeghiazaryan said, and noted that
“in order to come out of this situation, it is necessary to fight
until the end against [President] Serzh Sargsyan’s clan.”
