ARMENIANS OF TEHRAN HONOR MEMORY OF GENOCIDE VICTIMS

Hundreds of Tehrani Armenians gathered near the monument to commemorate
the 1915 Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire.

Armenia’s ambassador to Tehran, Armenians’ representative in the
Iranian parliament, Armenian dignitaries and ordinary people taking
part in the ceremony, too, paid tribute to the memory of the victims
of the mass slaughter by the Ottoman Empire by laying wreaths at a
site erected in their memories, IRNA reports.

The Armenian Archbishop of Tehran Sebouh Sarkissian said despite nearly
a century elapsed after the dreadful event, the world Armenians will
never forget the genocide.

The gathered called for Turkish government’s apology for the Armenian
Genocide.
