IRAQ ESTABLISHES DIPLOMATIC TIES WITH ARMENIA, UZBEKISTAN, TURKMENISTAN, KYRGYZSTAN

Iraq plans to open diplomatic missions in Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan,
Turkmenistan and Armenia, Trend cites Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary
Ambassador to Kazakhstan and Tajikistan Sabir Abbud al-Mussaui.

The diplomat said that restoration of ties with Middle Asian republics
is essential due to common history and culture. Khwarezm, Bukhara,
Samarkand are of historic value to Iraq. Together, countries of the
Middle East and Middle Asia could become a powerful economic forces,
the ambassador states.
