`Heritage’ list is unfair

`Heritage’ list is unfair

Secretary of “Heritage” Party Karine Hakobyan said she was leaving
the party during a press conference today.

“I regret to say that this is not the party’s criticism, but my
self-criticism. I have had many disagreements with the party, and this
decision was the last straw. I think people should lead the course
until the end and be principled. We shouldn’t have limited ourselves
to one letter against the opening of foreign language schools and
should have formed a social movement, but we didn’t,” mentioned
Hakobyan.

She mentioned that her decision was also related to the party’s
pre-electoral list.

“It’s not about the list. It’s about a cadre policy that should be
hinged on principles. There are unknown youth on our list. I am not
against seeing youth on the list, but they should be known to the
public and should be people who will fight,” mentioned Hakobyan.

“Many were against the logic of the list, but the difference between
me and them is that many of them have become popular through Raffi
Hovhannisian and depend on him,” mentioned Karine Hakobyan.

She informed that she had refused to take part in a process that she
thought was unfair.

Hakobyan also informed that during the party’s board session, Larisa
Alaverdyan had also said she was against the logic of the list and had
declared that she was stepping out of the election campaign.

“She didn’t mention the reason, but I think it was because of the
list. She has currently agreed to be 41st on the list as support to
the party,” mentioned the “Heritage” Party secretary.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
