Arts Academy “Byurakan” to open in Armenia in autumn 2012

Arts Academy “Byurakan” will open in Armenia in September 2012, Sona
Hovhannissyan, General Manager of the Festival Yerevan Perspectives
told ArmInfo.

The initiator of the Arts Academy project is Stepan Rostomyan,
Director of Yerevan Perspectives. The major goal of the academy is to
create a space with atmosphere of art and creation, for chamber
concerts and master-classes by the most famous musicians in the world.
The academy will be based in the town of Byurakan.

Hovhannissyan said that one of the first teachers of the Academy will
be Anna Chumachenko, Argentinean-German violinist, music teacher.
Gidon Kremer also agreed to teach at the academy.

Professional musicians can receive education at Academy. “There are
many talented people who need a little promotion to become world
famous musicians,” she said.
