POOR STATS: MORE THAN ONE-IN-THREE IN POVERTY IN ARMENIA

The poverty rate in Armenia now stands at 35.8 percent, Minister of
Labor and Social Affairs Arthur Grigoryan announced in parliament
Wednesday.

The minister said that about one-third of the poor have jobs – an
area of particular concern for the Government.

Social problems will be the “focus” of his ministry this year,
Grigoryan said.
