ARMENIA DEFINES PRIORITIES FOR 2012

One of main directions of activity in 2012 will be work on the strategy
of settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the foreign minister
of Armenia, Eduard Nalbandyan, stated on January 16th, NEWS.am reports.

According to him, in 2012 efforts to improve the strategic partnership
with Russia will continue, relations with the US will deepen and
important issues in the European direction will be made, including
efforts on simplification of the visa regime, and establishment of
a Free Trade Zone.

The minister said that in negotiations with the EU, Armenia managed
to progress much more than Azerbaijan. Great attention will be paid
to relations with the CIS countries. Important directions are China,
India, Japan, South America, Asia, and the Arab countries.

Steps on improving the CSTO will be made, as it is a significant part
of Armenia’s security.

Armenia intends to intensify its work in international organizations.
