SOCHI-BASED ARMENIANS CALL ON RUSSIAN DUMA FOLLOW FRANCE’S EXAMPLE

The Union of Sochi Armenians NGO intends to appeal to the Russian State
Duma for following France’s example and adopt a bill criminalizing
denial of the Armenian Genocide.

The NGO has launched a signature-gathering campaign, reports the
Yerkramas newspaper.

In its message to the Russian MPs, the Sochi-based Armenian community
calls on them to denounce the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire
in 1915-1922.

The Armenian community also calls on the Russian parliament to declare
April 24 Day in commemoration of genocide victims.
