Armenia to increase pensions and social relief in 2012

Armenia today increased pensions from 10,500 drams in 2011 to 13,000
drams ($33) in 2012. The average pension has increased from 13,200
drams to 16,500 drams, News Armenia reports.

Average social aid for disabled soldiers increased from 17,800 drams
to 20,900 drams and for families who lost their breadwinners from
15,800 to 19,500 drams.

About 37 million drams (approximately $100 million) of social relief
will be paid to 105,000 families (about 37,000 drams per family).

1000 drams are worth $2.6, according to today’s currency rate.
