reported an amusing incident which occurred during a traditional
meeting of Turkey’s Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leaders.
During MHP’s news conference in Ankara’s Shraton Hotel, world-known
Armenian chansonnier Charles Aznavour’s “Hier Encore” was played in
the background.
“The nationalists would have been rather uneasy, did they recognize
the singer known for his harsh political views,” Celik noted.
