Armenian carpets have always struck the eye with their decorations,
variety of colors and for being well-preserved. However, carpet-making
is one of the branches of culture that is on the verge of elimination.
There is less interest in this craft that has become artistically
significant. Experts say the lack of interest in carpet-making in
Armenia is due to the lack of demand in the local market.
Armenians can obtain old Armenian carpets at the Vernisazh and new
ones from carpet-making companies.
Starting from 1990, different individuals started exporting Armenian
carpets to Turkey for low prices.
