ISRAELI KNESSET TO DISCUSS RECOGNITION OF ARMENIAN GENOCIDE IN EARLY DECEMBER

Israeli Knesset’s Education, Culture and Sport Affairs Committee
will launch discussion of the bill on recognition of the Armenian
Genocide in early December. Izrus reports that the chairman of the
Committee is Alex Miller who came forth against the recognition of
the Armenian genocide. “I am against populist decisions, and I will
not allow scandalous speeches during hearings,” he said.

Speaker of Knesset Reuven Rivlin, who speaks in favor of recognition
of the Armenian Genocide, expressed wish to participate in the sitting
of the Committee. Representative of the Israeli parliament’s coalition
Elkin will also be present at the discussion. Starting from 2008 he
is actively engaged in the process of recognition of the Armenian
Genocide.
