ENVIRONMENTALISTS URGE PREMIER TO BAN URANIUM SEARCH IN SOUTHERN REGION

A group of environmentalists have voiced concerns over the recently
launched uranium search activities in Lernadzor village (Syunik
region).
They have posted a message on Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan’s Facebook
page, reminding him that the Government responded to their protests
last year, stopping the uranium search in Armenia’s southern village.
“The exploitation of the uranium mine is genocide in peace time. We
are against the mine’s possible exploitation,” they say, calling upon
the population to post those words on the premier’s Facebook wall.
