RENOWNED ARMENIAN ESSAYIST AND TRANSLATOR PASSES AWAY

YEREVAN. – After a brief but severe illness, distinguished essayist,
translator, and intellectual Karpis Surenyan died on Wednesday evening
at the age of 86.

All through his professional career, Surenyan authored more than
15 books, and thus left for the coming generations a powerful and
permanent literary, artistic, intellectual, and philosophical treasure.

Karpis Surenyan’s requiem mass will be conducted on Friday at Surb
Hovhannes church of Armenian capital Yerevan.
