LAW ON GENDER EQUALITY DRAFTED IN ARMENIA

YEREVAN. – Armenian Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs brought to
Cabinet’s discussion a draft on “Securing equal gender rights and
opportunities”. According to Government web-site the draft will be
discussed on October 6.
However, the Ministry of Justice, Ministries of Economy and Territorial
Administration criticized the initiative stating that the Constitution
already provides gender equality under several articles and passing
the new law will not add anything substantial.
