YEREVAN. – Armenian capital Yerevan’s wall-painting-rich Officer’s
House, which was demolished long ago and in its place now stands the
Piazza Grande commercial real estate, is still included in Armenia’s
State List of Immovable Historical and Cultural Monuments, Yerkir
daily writes.

“Such was the destiny of other cultural-historical monuments and other
buildings, which were demolished years ago. Even today, the Armenian
Ministry of Culture has no data as to the number of cultural-historical
monuments that were destroyed during constructions in Yerevan in recent
years. But in line with official study by the Prosecutor General’s
Office, 29 cultural-historical monuments were destroyed in Yerevan
between 2000 and 2006 alone,” Yerkir writes.
