“NEXT GENERATION WILL FACE PROBLEM”
Former head of the RA Central Bank Bagrat Asatryan says Armenia is
currently in a miserable state and regrets to say that it is more
negative than positive.
Chairman of the NA standing committee on social affairs, Republican
(HHK) MP Hakob Hakobyan tends to differ and says the country isn’t in
a miserable state. However, Hakobyan also mentioned that the government
hasn’t been able to exercise all of its rights for social development.
During today’s press conference, former head of the Central Bank
Bagrat Asatryan said Armenia is a country where 5-10 people have a
dominant position and where individuals decide who should be doing
business. He also mentioned that the number of emigrants has increased
and the birth rate has reduced.
HHK MP Hakob Hakobyan immediately gave a counterargument and said
there are more people being born than dying. “However, the society
can’t solve this issue, and the next generation will face a problem,”
said Hakobyan in closing.
According to Asatryan, the Armenian government doesn’t want to work
on solving the issues facing the country.
“One gets the impression that the government is tired,” said Bagrat
Asatryan.
Touching upon the opposition-government dialogue, Bagrat Asatryan
mentioned that if the dialogue continues, the people would benefit
from it.
MP Hakob Hakobyan said dialogue is a new political culture and if it
had started earlier, the events of March 1 wouldn’t have happened.
