Armenia’s Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan has said state funding should
be available both for state and private universities.
Sargsyan, who was participating in a forum titled Financing of Higher
Education that kicked off in Yerevan on Thursday, said there should
be no discrimination among state-sponsored and private universities.
“That means we should not adopt a discriminative approach towards
state and private universities,” said he.
“And the state funding should be available for both state and private
universities based on the level of quality the services have that
they deliver,” said Sargsyan.
Tigran Sargsyan also said that for that reason Armenia has made
the certification of institutes of higher education stricter than
previously.
