YEREVAN. – Greatest accomplishments of 20 years of Armenia’s
independence are its recognition as a subject of international law, its
victory at the Karabakh war, and the Armenian army, stated Sardarapat
Movement’s member Alek Yenigomshyan during a press conference held
today. But he considered it sad that the value of the victory in the
Artsakh war is belittled over the course of these years.”We have lost
the significance of all mentioned achievements.

Armenia’s being a subject of international law has given up many things
from its significance, the [Artsakh] victory is belittled at least
because Armenia’ three successive authorities have constantly expressed
readiness to surrender the liberated territories. And eventually, that
readiness has lessened the Armenian person’s inspiration which had
endowed him with the liberation of lands. We have left the liberated
lands abandoned, instead of using and turning them into an indivisible
part of our motherland,” Yenigomshyan noted. He also informed that
several foundations of the Sardarapat Movement are carrying out
efforts toward the resettlement of liberated territories.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
