YEREVAN. – We Will not Keep Silence youth initiative got an alarming
e-mail from Ararat city about the horrifying incident that happened to
Hovhannes Vardanyan, 20. The activists of the initiative immediately
responded to the alarm.
It was cleared out that while Hovhannes Vardanyan has been serving as
a soldier in Karabakh army for 14 months, his father Vardan Vardanyan
received a phone call from friends of his son who served at that time
with him. They informed his father that the son had issues with the
commander and was later moved to the psychiatric hospital 9 days ago.
What happened later Hovhannes’s father and uncle told in the video
shoot by the initiative. It was shot on Monday at the Nork psychiatric
hospital. Video also shows former soldier, very young Hovhannes
Vartanyan, who acts and speaks like an insane.
We Will not Keep Silence youth initiative demands an urgent explanation
of the Armenian MOD on the case.
