Azerbaijan will not abandon the negotiations to resolve the
Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Azerbaijani Foreign
Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said.

“I have no information about the next meeting of the Armenian and
Azerbaijani Presidents,” minister said. “I got this information from
the press. I can confirm that Azerbaijan is ready to continue talks
over Nagorno-Karabakh.”

He said that much has been done in the peace process up to now.

“I do not want anyone to deal with propaganda, saying that Azerbaijan
abandons the negotiation process,” Mammadyarov said. “The conflict must
be resolved in a phased manner, on the basis of the Madrid Principles.”

Minister expressed confidence that the time will come when the Armenian
troops withdraw from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
