MARTEN YORGANTZ: EMIGRATION IS ARMENIA’S WORST PROBLEM

PanARMENIAN.Net – Armenian-French singer Marten Yorgantz thinks
emigration to be Armenia’s worst problem.

“Emigration is a dangerous phenomenon as it makes the country weaker,”
he told a press conference in Yerevan.

France-based singer confessed that he wants to move in Armenia in
several years. “I want to spend here at least 3 months a year,”
he said.

Yorgantz said he performed a number of concerts in Artsakh, “Of
course, the country changed a lot but we should work for its further
development,” he noted.

Marten Yorgantz (born June 24, 1946 in Istanbul) is a popular singer
and composer. He recorded 24 albums in different languages, mostly in
Armenian, Italian and French. Among his well-known hits are “Chkuytik”,
“Hayi Achker”, “Hayeren Ergenk”, In 1980 he opened a restaurant at
Saint Georges, in the heart of Paris, where he regularly sings. After
the 1988 earthquake in Armenia, he gave about 100 concerts for the
Armenian children.
