YEREVAN. – Archeologists found ancient Christian church dating back to
AD 312 – 320 in the territory of Leodicea, Turkey, informed RIA
Novosti citing German KNA agency.

The head of expedition, Celal Simsek thinks that the church was built
in AD 313 after the edict of Milan. According to expert, taking into
account the importance of open church, Turkish authorities may invite
Pope Benedict XVI and Orthodox patriarchs for its opening.

Works on the preservation of the monument will last for about a year.
