Council of Europe envoys meet killed editor’s family in Azerbaijan

Rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on
Azerbaijan Andreas Gross and Andreas Herkel are holding meetings in
Baku. They met family members of the editor-in-chief of Monitor weekly,
Elmar Huseynov, who was murdered on 2 March, and his colleagues today.
At this moment, Andreas Gross and Andreas Herkel are holding a meeting
with Azerbaijani human rights activists.
In an interview with journalists, Herkel said that the main objective
of their visit is to learn how Azerbaijan is fulfilling its commitments
to the Council of Europe, including the situation with the release
of political prisoners and the creation of Public TV.
