Armenia ups ferromolybdenum output 6.7% in Q1

YEREVAN. May 3

Armenia raised ferromolybdenum output 6.7% year-on-year in Q1 2011 to
1,328 tonnes, the National Statistics Service said.

Molybdenum concentrate production grew 5.5% to 2,200 tonnes, converter
copper production grew 34.6% to 2,070 tonnes, copper concentrate fell
7.8% to 26,883 tonnes and zinc concentrate grew 19% to 3,644 tonnes.

The Rusal-Armenal foil mill produced 6,606 tonnes of aluminum foil, up
8.8% year-on-year. It also produced 4.2 tonnes of other aluminum
goods, down 40%.

Armenia exports all of its metals, mostly to Europe. It sells 80% of
the aluminum foil to the United States and some to Europe and the
Middle East.
