A magnitude 6.2 earthquake was recorded in Turkey, on January 20.

The earth shocks hit Golcuk district in Kocaeli Province, causing
panic among the local residents, Sabah newspaper reports.

The tremors were also felt in Istanbul and Izmit.

As NEWS.am reported previously, on January 19, a 5.3 magnitude quake
hit Turkey, in the Ardahan province bordering with Georgia. According
to Seismic Service of Georgia, a 5.8 magnitude earthquake (with 7
magnitude in the epicenter) hit Georgia 19 km to the south from the
town of Kutaisi and was felt in Armenia. A panic-stricken Georgian
woman jumped out of the second floor and received injuries.
