CYPRUS AND ARMENIA SIGN PROTOCOL OF COOPERATION

January 14, 2011 – Cyprus and Armenia signed
a protocol of cooperation on Friday which provides for the enhancement
of their bilateral relations in many fields.
The protocol was signed in Yerevan after the conclusion of
the deliberations of the First Meeting of the Cyprus – Armenia
Intergovernmental Committee, which was established on the basis of
an economic agreement between the two states.
The protocol of cooperation provides for the further enhancement of
their existing ties of friendship as well as the enhancement of their
cooperation in the fields of commerce, industry, economy, tourism,
investments, transport, agriculture and health.
Permanent Secretary of the Cyprus Planning Bureau George Georgiou,
who signed the protocol on behalf of Cyprus, expressed conviction
that this will contribute to the further strengthening of economic
ties between the two countries.
Armenian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Arman Kirakossian expressed
his country’s will to promote economic, commercial and industrial
ties with Cyprus.
