On December 3, a protest action will be held in the town of Ijevan in
support of editor-in-chief of Haykakan Zhamanak daily Nikol Pashinyan.
Protesters demand an immediate release of the jailed journalist.
The police have chained Ijevan’s central square banning people’s entry.
Nikol Pashinyan was born in Ijevan.
Pashinyan was sentenced to 7 years in prison for “organizing mass
disorders” during the riots following the disputed presidential
elections in 2008 that left ten people killed in downtown Yerevan.
